Meet Our Board Members!

Rachel McCarl
Founder and Adoption Coordinator

Hi there! My name is Rachel McCarl. I founded this rescue in April 2017. My goal for the first year was to rescue 10 rabbits and have 3 foster homes. Within the first year we rescued 80+ rabbits and had 12+ foster homes! I am beyond amazed with the support and need there is for a rabbit rescue in Iowa.
I live with my wonderful husband, Nathan (the treasurer of the rescue!), our three rescue bunnies (Sally, Oliver, and Panda) and our two rescue cockatiels (Daisy and Digby). We also often have other foster rabbits living with us as well. Its a busy life and we love it!
When I am not working on the rescue, you can find me crafting in one form or another!

Diana Ford
Co-Director

Hey everybunny! I'm Diana, the other director of A Home For EveryBunny and one of the main fosters for the rescue. I first learned about house rabbits when I met my husband, Brad, and his adorable pair of bonded buns, Mikel and Sierra, and it wasn't long before I was head over heels in love with both 😉 Meeting them was what kicked off my journey down the proverbial "rabbit hole" and led me to volunteer at the local animal shelter. After a series of rather fortunate events, I joined up with Rachel to help get A Home For EveryBunny started and have been helping her manage it ever since. I've been so amazed at how quickly the rescue has grown, and I'm so excited to have found such a wonderful group and cause to be a part of! To support my rabbit habit, I work as a clinical staff pharmacist at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. When I'm not working at the hospital or doing rescue stuff, I like to read, play video games, build puzzles, garden, and go for walks. My husband and I currently live in Coralville with our 4 forever floofs, Winston, Belle, Oliver, and Alphie, and a constant stream of fosters. I think that about sums it up!

Jasmine McAleavey
Co-Director,  Social Media & Web Coordinator

Hey Everybunny! I'm Jasmine, and if you're talking to our Facebook page, you're probably talking to me! I take care of our Facebook and help with our website as the social media/web coordinator. As well as that I also oversee our events and with the help of all our volunteers, do my best to keep fundraising activities happening for all our cute bunnies!

When I'm not doing rescue work, you'll find me hanging out with my hubby and (almost!) teenage daughter, we love going to events and festivals or playing board games. If I'm home, I'm reading, crocheting, making jewelry or cooking something tasty. I like to be a busy bee!

I stumbled across A Home For Everybunny a few months after Rachel started the rescue when I was looking for a buddy for my bun. I didn't adopt right away but I quickly became part of the rescue as a foster home and my role has grown from there.

Felicia Luz
Foster Coordinator, Eastern Iowa

Hi everyone. I feel very excited to be a part of this team! I just moved to Iowa two years ago. I was able to get my first bunny a year ago. With my first bunny I learned that I did not know a lot about bunnies. At that point my boyfriend and I learned that our bunny was smart and sassy and had a personality of her own. I knew I needed to learn more about bunnies.

I spent months trying to take in as much information as I could. I was lucky enough to find this rescue. I then was able to be apart of a great organization that truly loves bunnies. The rescue strives to bring happiness and loving homes to as many bunnies as they can. I was able to recently get my second bunny from this organization a husbun to my first bun. Brian my boyfriend is the Cesar Milan of bunnies and was able to tame them and bring out their passions for one another.

Through following the page and joining the events I was able to become a member of their team. I am excited to be a part of helping buns live their best life.

Janelle Gapp
Event and Fundraising Coordinator, Central Iowa

Hi everybunny! My name is Jen, and I am the Central Iowa Events and Fundraising Coordinator! I got involved with the rescue in March of 2019 as a grant writer, and my role has continued to change as the rescue has been growing exponentially! I work with the board to implement events in the central Iowa area and look for funding opportunities.

By day, I play a Research Associate at Iowa State University Diagnostic Laboratory, but off the clock, I'm a very happy mom to two buns, one cat, and one horse. When I'm not fawning over the "kids", my husband and I like to go on runs, travel, and work on our house!

Erin Kalkwarf
Foster Coordinator, Central Iowa

Hi EveryBunny, I’m Erin! I started fostering for A Home for EveryBunny in July 2018, and in September 2019 I was asked to serve as the Central Iowa Foster Coordinator. Even though I’ve had house rabbits for over 10 years, I feel like I’m always learning something new through the rescue.

My day job is at the Iowa State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory as a Diagnostic Associate. My husband and I have a beagle and two rabbits of our own, but many foster bunnies most of the time.
