A Home for EveryBunny is seeking a Foster Coordinator for Eastern Iowa. This is a volunteer position that will require 5-10 hours per week, on your schedule. The foster coordinator will be primarily remote, working from home, but will be expected to engage in rescue events and meet up with foster families as needed on the eastern side of Iowa.
Applicants should have a knowledge of house rabbit care, have good communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to commit to a year in this position. No prior experience in the rescue world is required, but passion for the field is important!
This position is essential in the daily operation and growth of the rescue. Among the duties included are:
-Serve as the primary point of contact for new and established fosters in Eastern Iowa
-Maintain rescue database records
-Careful coordination of multiple processes including transportation, surrender intake, and adoption meets.
We are a foster based rescue organization, having no paid staff and no building. We totally rely on volunteers and foster homes to care for over 60 rabbits at any given time. We are the only rabbit specific rescue in the state of Iowa, and currently have “hubs” around Central and Eastern Iowa. Our Eastern Iowa crew has grown substantially, and we are currently unable to accommodate any new fosters until this position is filled. We pride ourselves in maintaining a positive and welcoming environment! We are eager to bring on a new core volunteer to our team!

Position Title: Eastern Iowa Foster Coordinator
Position Summary: Serves as the primary point of contact for fosters within the specified jurisdiction and coordinates with other team members to work towards the goal of rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming domestic rabbits within the state of Iowa. These duties include and are not limited to:
Commitment: This role requires 5-10 hours per week, and this can be done on your schedule from home. Occasionally there will be need for an in-person event, transport, or meeting. We are asking that the applicant be able to commit to a year of this position.
Location: While most work can be done remotely, we are looking for the applicant to be based in Eastern Iowa in order to attend events, do transports, and build connections within the community.

- Assists fosters in the provision of appropriate rabbit care & notifies the medical coordinator if a vet visit may be needed
- Works with surrender coordinator, adoption coordinator, and event coordinator to facilitate transports of buns to foster homes, meets, and events.
- Ensures fosters meet requirements for fostering & follow organizational policies
- Notifies director of any breaches in contract & assists in disciplinary action if needed
- Updates foster database in Airtable
- Responsible for registering and setting up new foster homes
- Responds to new volunteer requests and adds them to the Facebook group
- Surrender Coordination
- Responds to surrender requests received via email
- Arranges intakes & coordinates transport with fosters
- Collects all necessary information & paperwork for new intakes (e.g. basic rabbit information, surrender form, vet records, etc.)
- Updates surrender waitlist database in Airtable
